Student blog content ideas

Photo by  Suzy Hazelwood  from  Pexels So I've written an article about why you should own your own blog as a student, but now I'm here to give you some tips and inspiration on what kind of content to write! Of course, it depends on what type of blog you are aiming for and what topics you'd like to talk about, but here are some general ideas! 1. News content  This is especially relevant if you'd like to pursue a career in journalism or a related field. Perhaps gather up some newsworthy content and write about it. Maybe your favourite band has released a new album and talk about how great (or maybe not so great) it is. Maybe an interesting news story has come up and you'd like to give your opinion on it. Also, bonus points if you can write unique pieces that no one else may have written, and be sure to put a creative spin on pieces that you write! You could also interview some people that have an interesting story to tell whilst reporting any news! Photo by  Ma...

How I found my career path

It's been a while since I've posted because University was getting extremely busy! I wanted to say that I've finished and I'm so proud of my achievements throughout! So the idea of this post is hopefully to inspire people who may currently be lost or confused in terms of their chosen career path. Maybe you want to change jobs, maybe you have just left school, college or sixth form, even university. It can be really difficult to make huge decisions and find what your true passions are.  Photo by  Markus Winkler  from  Pexels So here are a few things I did: I spoke to others and made the most of networking I wouldn't say always follow the crowd, but sometimes it can be important to connect with those around you, especially those who share similar interests and passions to you. That way, you can see the industries that they gravitate towards. Perhaps you can find roles that are similar to theirs, the same, or connect the dots from a certain hobby you share. For example...

Being a third year university student during a pandemic

Photo by  cottonbro  from  Pexels To anyone reading this, I hope you and your family are all well and that you can find some peace during the lockdown. Obviously, this pandemic is a tough experience for everyone. It doesn't matter how affected you are, we all have different negatives that have come from this period. Sadly, I am one of many uni students who have had several months chopped off their uni experience. I wanted to share how I personally am coping and making the best of the time despite what is currently happening. It is so heartbreaking that we have spent nearly two years out of normal life, and hopefully, we will see the light at the end of the tunnel soon. Wishing everyone all the best x Essay writing/ revision concentration  I feel like this is one thing that most students are struggling with the most. You open your laptop and notebook and you cannot even hear yourself think. You feel like there is no inspiration and no hope for the future and for the n...

2021 - 3 goals to focus on!

New Year's Goals! Photo by  Polina Kovaleva  from  Pexels New Year and Christmas were obviously very odd this year. It felt as if we'd had a year of practically nothing, no set schedule, no clear plans outside of our own homes and workplaces. Most people experienced strong emotional pain one way or another. Grief, loss, loss of hope, a strong sense of worry and confusion. I felt that I had made the most of everything I had, and I noticed a lot of people were learning and growing throughout Lockdown periods. It was also a great time to connect with people online and make new friendships that can last a lifetime. I could write a whole essay on it! Right now though, I wanted to share some goals I have going forward into 2021 to document, enjoy! Having an even more positive attitude  Okay, I know I talk about how I feel that I've grown in confidence, and I know I've always been a positive person (ask my closest friends), but this year, I want to be positive consi...

5 ways to deal with stress

A 5-step guide on how to stress less!                    Photo by  Pixabay  from  Pexels 1. Networking and helping others "A kind gesture can reach a wound that only compassion can heal."- Steve Maraboli Surrounding yourself with positive people can really help to calm your stress levels. Sometimes we find ourselves being around the wrong people as I have mentioned in previous posts. If you surround yourself with uplifting and encouraging people who cheer you on, chances are your stress levels will decrease as a result. Also, helping others can make you feel happier and reduce stress. Always make sure that you put yourself first though. 😊  2. Time-management skills There are many time-management courses out there that you can take if you feel that you would like help to manage your time better and break down tasks into more manageable chunks.  I have spoken about time-management methods on my vario...

Starting a blog while studying: Why you should blog as a student

Photo by  cottonbro  from  Pexels I always used to be asked as a teenager whether I would ever start my own personal blog. I was a bit sceptical about it at first as I knew it would probably end up abandoned because of a lack of inspiration or time to focus on it. I also didn't think that what I had to say would be important to other people or add any value to their lives. Of course, I was completely incorrect about a lot of things before I started my first blog. Funnily enough, I do have many other projects that are sitting on the internet somewhere unused or discontinued, but I feel like that is just part of the starting process. Sometimes you have to test the waters before pursuing something that matters to you, and that's ok. I wanted to share some words of encouragement and advice to those who are perhaps unaware of the benefits of a blog, or those actually considering it. My aim is to inspire someone to make a start because it really is useful and a great hob...

Lockdown Holiday and Closing a Chapter

Photo by  Rebeca Gonçalves  from  Pexels During August I was lucky enough to spend some time away at our family holiday home in Devon. The change of environment was great because of course, we've been locked away and restricted for quite a long time. I think we were quite concerned about what would be available to do there this time as of course, we wanted to avoid the virus as much as possible. We usually go during the Easter months but this was, of course, let down by the virus. I had also planned to travel and work in the States for the duration of summer. I still have no idea if I can still pursue this as it might affect what I want to do over the next few years career-wise, It was also quite a sad moment for me as we need to put the holiday home on sale now. I've been lucky enough to have stayed there throughout my entire life. Closing a chapter in your life can be sad, but of course, nothing can last forever! I just wanted to write this and document it as I k...
